Running much better…

In the month since I last wrote, my running has had something of a dramatic improvement, I have no idea why, I’ve been just as lazy as always. I ran a 10 mile race in 1:16:52, setting new pb’s on every distance above 3 miles going round, but I obviously don’t know the exact time.

I also did two cross-country races for the club, finishing 11th and 9th out of the club, and with only the first 10 to score it was kind of pointless really, but it’s fun trudging through mud and up hills and through streams purely to come almost last. The good thing being though, there were always cakes afterwards!

After these good races I was very confident going into the Oxshott 10k to set a good PB. I did it in ~49 minutes last year, so thought 46 was a good target, that would’ve been 2 minutes inside my PB. All was on course at 6k with 45:30 being a good chance, however the course arrows had been moved and it everyone went off on different routes, I used my svg whiteboard code to try and measure the route and it came up with 12.2k but I long knew it was wrong and just jogged in slowly the end, still 58:08 was not a bad time for the distance.

Oh and my London Marathon cheque was cashed so I should really start doing some proper training.
